| The FIA changes the tyre regulations: Instead of measuring the tread width (270 mm maximum for the front tyres) before the race, they shall be measured after the race.
It is expected that this change of rules (which has been called "closing a loophole") will even out the differences between Michelin and Bridgestone tyres.
Because this change of regulations is coming very sudden and without warning, it is uncertain wether Michelin can provide tyres for the race.
As a reaction, Michelin has called their teams to boycott the race if this regulations change should not be recalled or postponed.
Nevertheless, Michelin was still able to provide new tyres for the Monza Grand Prix and the race is held normally.
